Running a small business can be both exhilerating and exhausting. So much to do when it comes to fulfilling orders, creating product, photographing the product, uploading and editing, tracking and storing inventory, systems, emails, shipping, posting on social media, going live - and so much more! The rush of seeing a new order coming in makes it all worth while however, not all days bring orders. It is on those days one questions whether they are doing the right thing. If they should take a step back and do something "normal" like a "regular job." But perhaps you're like me and you're anything but "normal."
Sometimes it's the emails sharing thoughts on the latest piece, or the comment on an online post "this is my favourite yet" that keeps you going even on the darkest days. It's important in times like these we reminder the why. It's why we get up in the morning to create and share our gifts with the world. It's why we continue to show up even on the days we'd much rather stay in bed.
The world can be a depressing place when we see or hear the latest headlines. Very rarely is it about something positive or uplifting. We have to remind ourselves that what we see is merely a snapshot of what it is we are meant to see. The decision-makers of the world capitalize off of fear and worry. We need to remember to surround ourselves with kindness and positivity. We need to remember to filter out the "noise" that surrounds us in our everyday life. We need to remember that we are enough. We matter. Even on those darkest of days when you feel like you don't want to get up because it doesn't matter, remember, you matter.
