The Vision Unveiled
Welcome to a world where colour breaks the rules, where hidden stars wait to be discovered, and where every piece invites you into layers of possibility.
The Studio
I create from a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by nature - a studio with picture windows overlooking fields, forests, and water. This is where magic happens, accompanied by the greatest decade of music (the 80s, naturally) or inspiring podcasts about intentional living and wellness.
The northern lights dance across my canvases. Flowers bloom in vibrant colours and brushstrokes. Birds and wildlife appear in mystical hues that challenge tradition. I paint what moves me - sometimes the expected beauty of nature, sometimes the delightfully unusual subjects that some artists overlook. I also love to paint the whimsical, the unserious, the absurd. Subjects that evoke humour in unconventional environments.
Because here's my philosophy: there are no rules when it comes to colour and subject matter. Animals can be purple. Skies can be orange. Magic is everywhere if you're willing to see it.
The Process
Some pieces begin with careful sketches. Others flow freehand, guided by intuition and energy. I work primarily in oil and acrylic for their rich, vibrant pigments - colours that command attention from across a room and reward close inspection with intricate detail. I occasionally explore watercolour and gouache or charcoal and graphite pencils- to challenge myself and explore new possibilities.
Texture is essential to my work. I enjoy layering texture pastes, using stencils, building dimension- anything that begs to the viewer to look more closely. I will occasionally hide things as well - such as stars tucked into corners or subtle elements woven into the composition. I want every time you look at a piece I've created to feel like a new experience.
I create with intentionality. I strive for my art to appeal from a distance but also reveal secrets up close. I want viewers to find new worlds, new layers, new moments of wonder each time they return to a piece. I want every glance to be with "new eyes" and to elicit the same sense of awe and magic.
The Art
Every brushstroke carries my energetic vibe and aura. Each piece is unique, original, and intentional. I firmly believe that art should spark joy, inspire possibility, and invite you into a more colourful, magical way of seeing the world.
