This painting was inspired from the nights spent returning to the same place where I would go cold-plunging with friends. It was an opening cut into the ice, lit by lanterns, held beneath a full moon. The cold was sharp, the water was dark, and the trees stood quietly around us. It was eerily calm. 

I painted this piece as a visual reminder that we can do anything when we put our minds to it. That when we embrace nature, rather than hide from it, and get comfortable in the uncomfortable, you can find an inner stength you didn't know you had. What began as discomfort became ritual, shared and returned to again and again.

This work is about choosing to step into something difficult with awareness, and about the quiet strength found in presence, friendship, and light- especially when the night is cold and the moon is watching.
